Hot on the heels of the Google / HTC Nexus One comes the Android powered HTC Desire.

Although the chassis remains the same size and shape as the Nexus One, the HTC Desire has physical buttons replacing the touch sensitive ones, and the trackball has been replaced with an optical version.

It has the same 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a 3.7 inch OLED screen with multi-touch capability, and it runs the ace HTC Sense UI operating system.

HTC have not added a docking platform, and the active noise cancellation technology has also been removed. According to HTC this brings the price point down to around £480.

March / April is the expected release time for the HTC Bravo, with Orange being one of the first network partners. mobilebeep.co.uk will have the phone and contracts available to compare as soon as it’s available.
